The general objective of the Parents’ Council is to promote the interests of the students and parents / guardians in the school, in co-operation with the Board of Management, the Principal, teachers and students, by offering advice and by adopting a programme of activities, in consultation with the Principal, which will promote the involvement of parents in the operation of the school.

The Council is there to:
  • act as a voice for parents / guardians and represent their interests;
  • foster educational partnership between the home and the school; 
  • encourage active parent participation in promoting the well-being and interest of all students at the College;
  • promote parent networking and participation in educational, and extra-curricular activities; provide a forum for educational discussion and a means of communication;
  • actively promote the National Educational Aims;
  • ensure the rights of parents / guardians in consultation with school management and
  • ensure that parents/guardians are informed of developments and changes at the College. 
The Board of Management warmly welcomes the meaningful involvement of the Parents’ Council.
A comprehensive report will be given at each meeting by the Principal (Mr. John Mulvihill) / Parents’ Council Liaison teacher (Ms. Theresa Murphy).

Members
All parents/guardians of students enrolled in the College are automatically members of the Parents’ Council. We actively encourage participation in our events and attendance at our meetings and are delighted to see new faces and to hear new perspectives at any stage of the school year. 

Meetings
Meetings will take place in the College / on Zoom. Notice of meetings will be given to parents / guardians in advance on Compass.
If you would like to attend a Zoom meeting you will need to request the link to be sent to you before the meeting. This can be achieved by emailing the Secretary of the Parents’ Council at [email protected]
