School Hours
  • The school will be opened from 8:15am to 6:15pm during the school term
  • Classes begin at 9:00am and finish at 4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Classes finish at 1:15pm on Friday
  • Break Time: 11am – 11:15am Lunch: 1.15pm – 2:00pm
  • After School study is available 4.15pm to 6.15pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 1.45pm to 3.45pm on Friday. Night Study is available from 7pm to 10pm, Monday to Thursday, primarily for exam students.
  • Students should be in school at least five minutes before the official start time
  • Under the terms of the current National Supervision Agreement, supervision is provided for a period of 10 minutes before classes begin and for 10 minutes after classes have finished each day
  • Students are also supervised during morning/lunch breaks
  • Please note that Junior Students( 1st, 2nd & 3rd Years) are NOT allowed to leave the school grounds during school hours

  • School Jacket: New school jacket can be purchased in Office.  Only school jackets will be allowed in school.

Grey Trousers and Light Blue Shirts are also available from many of the large retailers such as Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Debenhams, Marks and Spencers, Next, etc.

Jewelry 

All jewelry and ear-rings are strictly prohibited in St. Michael’s College.
  • All students are encouraged to be neat and tidy and well groomed
  • In the interest of good training and discipline, uniforms will be inspected at regular intervals


Pupils will not be permitted to class unless they are in full uniform. If a student arrives to school with no uniform he will be supplied with one for the day. The Parents/Guardians will be notified about this incident and will be informed that if the student arrives to school the next day without full uniform he will be sent home.

Uniform requirements: Extract from Code of Discipline
  • Students are required to wear the full school uniform each school day.
  • All students must wear complete school uniform at school, while travelling to and from school, at school functions and at games.
  • If for any reason a student is not wearing complete school uniform, a letter from the parent stating the reason should be handed to the Class Tutor.
  • The wearing of hoodies is strictly prohibited.
